If you don’t like this car then you’re a DUMBASS .
Spotted on my way in this morning. Second gen vista cruiser. No price listed. Looks OK but has a lot of rust holes in every panel close to the ground.
Not too bad of a project if you are good with patch panels. The wood paneling may even make it easier to hide repair work.

Green, likable and rusty. What more could you ask for?

A 455 Olds under the hood.
Which it might be. The house has a couple projects out back.

Awe yeah! That thing is sweet! I’m sure there’s more rust down below, so only somebody flush with cash or good at bodywork should take this one on, but it’s worth saving.

I really like the roof in the back.

Worth saving for sure. The lower body rust is the worst of it. Thing is complete on the inside and appears to be otherwise totally original.

That’s the Vista Roof.

I’m a sucker for cars with windows upper side windows like that.

I prefer the more luxurious and bigger Custom Cruiser.

Oh yes. Always loved the psycho-looking split eye headlight thing.

I just need to throw this out there, have you or anybody reading this have actually driven a car like this? ie a late 60’s/early 70’s land yatch? It’s one thing to acknowledge it’s inate coolness (which I agree) but it is a completly diffrent relm when you acutlly drive a car with low HP, tons of torques and a suspension from a water bed.

SWEET!

We had one of these in the same color growing up! It was my first car when I got my license. Perfect date car for a teenager. Huge vinyl bench seats for lots of maneuvering room and easy clean up. What’s not to like?

Yup, I have. Enough to know you forgot to mention the inadequate braking system. Ha ha.
I’ve been working on 60’s-70’s stuff for a while now, and I’m not really a “stock resto” guy. If this were to become my project (which it won’t) I’d toss a lot of the factory running gear in the scrap pile for updated designs. Won’t ever be a Z06 but it could be built up to be passable on today’s roads.

I DD’d a 1968 Buick Electra 225, aka Das Boat. I kinda forgot about the 4 wheel drum brakes on a 5,000 lb car don’t really so much as stop as they gradually slow you down along with the friction of the atmosphere against the car. Pretty much this car but no hub caps.

Deuce and a quarter! That’s not A boat, it’s THE boat.
Not sure if you ever saw Sinbad’s take on them.

He is talking the truth. I could put my 204 cm skis in the trunk easily. You could put 4 across COMFORTABLY in the back and front seats. Now I’m getting all nostalgic. I had a boom box in the back window.

I ran into a brick wall, I won.
